I like going outside, especially to make a fire and cook, but also to garden, observe wildlife, and relax. I'm a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) at the 200-hour level. My lockdown project was to learn guitar and bass. Although I can play a bit now, I am still a better singer and drummer than guitarist. My first full-time teaching job was teaching High School German with Hampton City Schools (Virginia, USA). My first international teaching experience was teaching English at a German Hauptschule in Rheinland-Pfalz under the auspices of the Fulbright Exchange Program. For about ten summers, I taught at the Virginia Governor's German Academy, a summer immersion program for high school students. I moved to Germany in 2007 to take a job teaching Math and Science for two years at an international school in Neuss. For the past sixteen school years, I have been at the elementary school of the International School of Düsseldorf, first teaching German as another language before joining the outdoor learning team, and now teaching Music, Movement, and German across our Early Years groups. I have a BA in German with an endorsement to teach German from preK to 12, and a Master's in School Management from the Technische Universität Kaiserslautern. My wife and I live in Düsseldorf with our two children.
